Nice is a city in the south-east of France, open to the Mediterranean Sea and located only thirty kilometres from the Franco-Italian border. As the economic and cultural capital of the Côte d\’Azur, Nice enjoys many natural assets thanks to its exceptional location between the sea and the mountains. It has the second largest hotel capacity after Paris. Indeed, the 4 million tourists who visit Nice every year can use the third largest airport in France and in particular visit many museums, a national theatre, or emblematic monuments such as the Lascaris Palace, the Masséna Palace and the Mediterranean Palace, transformed into a luxury hotel facing the sea.
The city’s architecture is directly linked to its history, with a strong Turin and Baroque influence. While the Italian style architecture is strongly present in the old town of Nice, many districts built after its annexation to France in 1860 have a Haussmann style with a much more French aspect. There are also many Nicois apartments in Belle Epoque buildings with pastel-coloured facades. However, Nice is best known for its palaces which house many charming apartments such as the Negresco Palace on the Promenade des Anglais. Other architectural movements have led to the emergence of original buildings housing charming residential apartments. Indeed, the Consiglio d\’Ornato has created a new, more modern style characterised by colourful facades and trompe l’oeil, while the Art Deco style is much more design-oriented, often inlaid with mother-of-pearl.
Renowned for its Promenade des Anglais, its magnificent carnival and its pebble beaches along the Baie des Anges, Nice is a dynamic, touristic and commercial city. The price of real estate in Nice is half as high as in Paris, but what motivates many people to settle there is its direct proximity to Monaco, Cannes, or the Sophia Antipolis business park. If the apartments in Nice have a charm typical for the city\’s different architectural styles, the many sunny houses and villas built there will offer you breathtaking panoramas.
